Central Vietnam has a tropical monsoon climate, with warm and sunny weather for most of the year. The rainy season often falls between September and January, with possible storms and flooding in Hue, Da Nang and Hoi An.
Public Transport
Travelers can move around Central Vietnam by plane, train, coach or private car. Da Nang is the most convenient gateway for connecting to Hue, Hoi An and Quang Binh. Within cities, taxis, ride-hailing apps, local buses and bicycles are easy options for getting around.
Internet
Internet access in Central Vietnam is convenient in tourist cities such as Da Nang, Hue, Hoi An and Nha Trang. Most hotels, cafés and restaurants offer free Wi-Fi. When traveling to mountain areas, remote villages or islands, visitors should prepare a local SIM card or eSIM for better connection.

The official currency is the Vietnamese Dong (VND). International cards are accepted at many hotels, restaurants and shopping centers, but cash is still useful for local markets, small eateries, taxis and entrance fees. Travelers should exchange money at banks or trusted currency exchange counters.
